Salvage auctions move fast and the listing is written to sell, not to warn you. These are the gaps that cost first-time and experienced buyers the most money.
You usually get six to twelve images shot in a crowded yard. Undercarriage, frame rails, airbags, and the engine bay are rarely shown clearly, and that is exactly where the expensive problems live.
